Only three? In game of thrones, there's the Starks, the Lannisters, the Tyrells, the Boltons, the Glovers, the Baratheons (not anymore), the Martells, the Targaryen, and that's just the major ones I can list of the top of my head. We also have the Free Folk and the White walkers.
In adition to the houses, we also have the formerly 7, now 9 kingdoms; The North, the Iron Islands, the Riverlands, the vale of Arryn, the Westerlands, the Reach, Dorne, the Stormlands and the Crownlands.
And they're not all competing for the Iron (red) Throne. the Starks (the few who are left) wants to rule North independentely as the Kings of Winter. The Boltons probably wants to rule North as the Red Kings. Dorne also want to become independent. I know, I know, creative liberties
